Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy explains how Vista Weather handles information in the Vista Weather mobile app and on the Vista Weather website.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the app and respond to requests you make.

• Location. If you allow location access, Vista Weather uses your device's location to request the forecast for your area. We do not keep a history of your location.
• Searches and saved places. If you search for or save a place in the app, that place may be used to show its forecast. Saved places are stored on your device.
• Email address. If you join the waitlist or contact support, we collect the email address and message you provide so we can send the requested update or respond to you.

How We Use Information

• To fetch and display weather forecasts.
• To remember places you choose to save on your device.
• To send launch or product updates you requested.
• To respond to support, privacy, or deletion requests.

Location

Location access is optional and controlled by iOS. If you grant permission, Vista Weather may send your current location or an approximate location to a weather service provider only as needed to return the forecast. Your location is not used for advertising, sold to anyone, or used to build a profile about you.

Third-Party Services

We may use service providers, such as weather data providers, website hosting providers, and email delivery providers, to operate Vista Weather. These providers may process data only to provide their services to us, and they must protect user data at least as carefully as this policy requires.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, data brokers, or tracking services.

Retention and Deletion

Location used to fetch a forecast is not retained by Vista Weather after the forecast request is served. Saved places and cached app data are stored on your device and can be removed by deleting them in the app, where available, or by deleting the app.

Waitlist and support emails are kept only as long as needed to send requested updates, provide support, meet legal obligations, or maintain basic business records. You can request deletion of your email or support messages at any time.

Your Choices

• You can grant, deny, or revoke location permission in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Location Services, then Vista Weather.

Children's Privacy

Vista Weather is not directed to children under 13, and we do not collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we design Vista Weather to minimize the data we handle.

Changes

We may update this policy as Vista Weather changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
